The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting certified A&P Mechanics perform high quality routine and non-routine maintenance for various types of aircraft. Including making parts runs, maintaining shop cleanliness and completing shop projects. Maintenance Assistant’s should possess basic math reasoning and troubleshooting skills, and be somewhat mechanically inclined.


General Duties

  • Aids various line maintenance related services of transport category aircraft, along with non-routine and routine line maintenance activities.
  • Track and coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules, oil changes, tire changes and coordinate washes and detailing, etc.
  • Knowledge of all safety standards for working in and around aircraft and facilities.
  • Responsible for his/her personal safety as well as the safety and care of all equipment and supplies assigned.
  • Comply with all airport authority rules and regulations including AOA operations and airport security requirements.
  • Maintain high level of safety and customer service.
  • Application of the principles of the “Atlantic Attitude” at all times.



Essential duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Delivering required parts/tools to A&P Mechanics in the field
  • Complete all required maintenance records in an accurate and timely manner
  • Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints and schematics
  • Maintain and control disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with EPA rules and regulations.
  • Operate all related ground handling equipment utilized to service the aircraft
  • Perform periodic check of all equipment and facility, document findings and coordinate repair with General Manager
  • Present a clean and neat work area to our customers
  • Support all company policies and safety programs
  • Performing tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work cohesively as part of a team, with multilevel guidance and supervision
  • Responsible for his/her personal safety as well as the safety and care of all equipment and supplies assigned.
  • Maintain a high level of safety and customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
